Figure 03 represents the third generation of Figure AI's humanoid robots, introduced in October 2025 as a 'general-purpose home humanoid' and featured by TIME as one of the Best Inventions of 2025. Following Figure 02's historic deployment at BMW where robots accumulated 1,250 hours of run-time loading over 90,000 parts and contributing to 30,000 BMW X3 vehicles. Figure AI is officially retiring the 02 fleet to roll key learnings into Figure 03.
Figure 03 incorporates critical design improvements based on real-world factory experience. The forearm, identified as the top hardware failure point at BMW, was completely re-architected. Each wrist's motor controller now communicates directly with the main computer, eliminating both the distribution board and dynamic cabling, reducing complexity, improving reliability, and simplifying thermal management.
With a third financing round in September 2025 raising $1 billion, Figure AI's valuation reached $39 billion. Investors include Intel, NVIDIA, Qualcomm, T-Mobile, Salesforce, and Brookfield Asset Management. CEO Brett Adcock stated at Bloomberg Tech that Figure AI expects to manufacture and deploy roughly 100,000 units within four years.
Figure AI's partnerships with BMW, Microsoft, NVIDIA, and OpenAI provide technological expertise and deployment opportunities. The OpenAI collaboration integrates advanced language models enabling speech-to-speech communication and natural instruction understanding. Building on the 400% speed boost and sevenfold task success improvement demonstrated by Figure 02 at BMW, Figure 03 is positioned to scale humanoid deployment from pilot programs to production-level automation.
