About Moby

Moby is a rugged humanoid platform from Santa Clara-based Under Control Robotics (UnderControl AI), founded by veterans from NASA's Valkyrie project and Apple. Designed for 'dull, dirty, and dangerous' tasks, Moby prioritizes functional mobility and payload capacity over human-like aesthetics.

The robot features a minimalistic, headless design focused on utility. It can lift up to 60 lbs (27 kg) and navigate rough terrain, stairs, and tight spaces using a robust bipedal locomotion system. Moby runs on NVIDIA's Jetson Orin platform, utilizing a lightweight AI model for power-efficient autonomy.

Positioned as an open platform, Moby allows developers to integrate custom sensors and AI workflows. It targets industries like construction, mining, and energy where its ability to operate in hazardous environments can reduce human risk.
