About Galbot G1

Galbot G1 from Beijing Galaxy General Robot (known as Galbot) demonstrates how Chinese robotics startups can achieve rapid scale with significant funding. Founded in May 2023, the company raised a record 700 million yuan (~$96 million) in its angel round from investors including Meituan, Qiming Venture Partners, and the Hong Kong government.

Standing 173 cm tall and weighing 85 kg with a 190 cm arm span, the G1 combines a humanoid torso with dual arms and a mobile base. A torso lift of 65 cm and reach range up to 240 cm enable access from floor level to high shelves. The foldable body design allows compact storage and transportation.

The G1's dual arms deliver 5 kg payload with multi-modal sensors including visual and tactile systems for environmental perception. Advanced AI enables real-time learning, decision-making, and voice command recognition. Demonstrations at the 2024 World Artificial Intelligence Conference showed 97% success rate in complex object grasping and visitor interaction.

Already deployed in over ten unmanned pharmacies across Beijing operating 24/7, Galbot G1 handles medication sorting and customer service autonomously. Target applications span automotive manufacturing, electronic equipment production, food processing, and retail. The 10-hour runtime supports full-shift deployment without charging interruption. Galbot's massive funding enables aggressive expansion while competitors operate with more limited resources.
