About PM01

EngineAI's PM01 represents a breakthrough in affordable humanoid robotics, launched in December 2024 by the Shenzhen-based startup founded just months earlier in October 2023. At approximately $12,000 (¥88,000), the PM01 undercuts Unitree's G1 by $3,000, making capable humanoid technology accessible to more researchers and developers.

Standing 1.38 meters tall and weighing 40 kg, the PM01 features 24 degrees of freedom enabling smooth, dynamic, human-like movement. Custom electric actuators deliver up to 300 N·m joint torque with exceptional torque density of 203 N·m/kg. The robot's 320° waist rotation provides enhanced flexibility for manipulation tasks.

A dual-chip architecture combining Intel N97 and NVIDIA Jetson Orin processors powers PM01's AI capabilities. Perception comes from Intel RealSense depth cameras, stereo cameras, and LiDAR for comprehensive 3D environmental understanding and obstacle avoidance. An aluminum alloy exoskeleton provides durability while keeping weight manageable.

PM01's open-source AI framework supports reinforcement learning with full ROS compatibility. EngineAI provides training and deployment code (ROS/ONNX, MuJoCo sim2sim, Isaac-based training) to accelerate third-party development. The robot walks at up to 2 m/s, with a quick-release battery providing two hours of operation. EngineAI claims PM01 as the first humanoid robot to successfully perform a frontflip, demonstrating the quality of its control algorithms and mechanical design.
