The ALPHA from TeknTrash is a specialized humanoid robot built to revolutionize waste management and recycling. Designed to tackle hazardous, unsanitary, and repetitive tasks in recycling facilities, ALPHA aims to improve worker safety and sorting efficiency.
The robot features two 6-DOF arms equipped with grippers rather than suction cups, allowing it to physically grasp and sort various types of waste. Its vision system is particularly advanced, utilizing hyperspectral cameras that can see beyond the visible spectrum (including UV and Infrared) to accurately identify materials that look similar but have different chemical compositions.
ALPHA operates as part of a cloud-connected fleet, sharing learning data to continuously improve sorting accuracy. With a lifting capacity of 5 kg and a battery life of up to 7 hours, it is designed for full shifts in demanding industrial environments. By automating the dangerous 'picking' line process, TeknTrash aims to make the circular economy more viable and safe.
