Galaxea R1 Lite is the entry-level model in Galaxea Dynamics' R1 series, designed as an accessible data collection and research platform. At 128 cm tall and 55 kg, it offers a compact form factor ideal for laboratory environments and AI training applications.
The R1 Lite features 23 degrees of freedom: 6-DOF three-wheel steering chassis, 3-DOF torso, and two 6-DOF Galaxea A1X robot arms with G1 grippers. The arms provide 60 cm reach with rated 3 kg payload (5 kg peak) per arm. The vertical workspace spans from ground level to 1.7 meters, making it suitable for tabletop manipulation tasks.
Unlike the R1 and R1 Pro which use NVIDIA Jetson, the R1 Lite runs on an Intel i9-12900H processor with 32GB RAM and 1TB SSD storage. This provides strong general-purpose computing for AI development while maintaining cost-effectiveness. The sensor suite includes a binocular vision camera on the platform and two monocular depth cameras on the wrists.
The R1 Lite supports teleoperation for data collection and has been used with Physical Intelligence's π-0.5 model for complex household tasks. The 720Wh battery provides approximately 3 hours of operation. Starting at 199,000 RMB (~$28,000), it represents the most accessible entry point into Galaxea's humanoid ecosystem.
