About Galaxea R1

Galaxea R1 is the standard model in Galaxea Dynamics' R1 series of wheeled humanoid robots, positioned between the entry-level R1 Lite and the flagship R1 Pro. Standing approximately 170 cm tall, it combines dual-arm manipulation with omnidirectional mobility for research and industrial applications.

The R1 features 24 degrees of freedom distributed across a 6-DOF three-wheel steering chassis, 4-DOF torso, and two 6-DOF Galaxea A1 robot arms with G1 grippers. The arms provide 70 cm reach (86 cm with gripper) and can handle up to 3.5 kg per arm or 10 kg combined payload. The vertical workspace spans from ground level to 2 meters height.

Powered by NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin 32GB with 200 TOPS computing capability, the R1 supports advanced AI workloads and real-time control. The sensor suite includes 7 HD cameras for perception and 360° LiDAR for navigation, with optional second LiDAR available. The platform runs ROS 2 Humble with comprehensive documentation for custom development.

The R1 supports both isomorphic and VR teleoperation, enabling intuitive remote control for data collection and task demonstration. As part of Galaxea's embodied AI ecosystem, it integrates with modern AI workflows including vision systems, planning tools, and language models for natural instruction understanding.
